OMG Lyk Totally Kawaii

Fri Jul 10, 2009, 1:39 AM
Strange how no one complains about the usage of German words, Spanish words or French words within English sentences. But Japanese... Man, people flip then. I use different European words within my sentences in English and when i talk Norwegian. There is no stamps against that... I'm more agains "Im so lyk luvin dat boy", if anything (At least those who write kawaii can spell it right). But hey it's not related to Japan nor anime, so you can't fangirl hate them *l*.

I shalt continue bible language and Jamaican English in da future mon. And a bit of gangstah shit biatches!
I dun liek it, but i wunt be up ther asses fur it. I'll just mock them quietly here in my journal.
And i shalt continue biatches to fuck ye over mon, with my overly brilliant mixture of lyk all kinds of mother fucking snakes on airplanes, OMG snakes! I'm lyk so totally freaked out right now!
Now i shalt do my farewells my amigo, tata.

Fin.

Did you know scifi is now syfy? OMG It's Lyk Totally Kawaii!
Adios!

I wonder if anyone has ever noticed how i change the way i write my sentences from time to time. He He.

Now I'm finito.

Ahahah :D Yeah. I sometimes put english words in midst of my finnish, mostly because I think the words describes whatever I'm saying better or I can't remember the finnish one.
I find it annoying when people write their journals or any longer texts than two sentences like that, because with english I always have to be so careful that I understand things like they're meant and so on :P And no matter what language they're mixing, it's annoying in longer tense; it's fine when your talking with your friends (imho then you can talk whatever way you feel is best), but when talking to a larger audience people should think twice before mixing bible and jamaican english 8)

I see what you mean. Actually, I hate it when people use german words as well. Not ones that have been adopted into the english language, just german words like the one for cute. I think the problem people have with using Japanese is its unusual usage on the internet or among fandoms. People can say stuff like 'sayonara' without getting any grief, even if they are saying it COMPLETELY wrong. It's saying things like kawaii that really get under people's skin. I've always thought that sprinkling words from a language you don't know is also a complete insult to people who actually study the language, particularly if it's something as difficult as Japanese. You meet a fangirl who says kawaii, but if you actually ask her if she's studying Japanese in Japanese, and she's lost. Hours and hours of difficult and strenuous school work should not be voided by tweens who want everyone to think they're much more cultured then they are. It's like using a latin phrase when you know nothing else. Don't do it!

Sokka: You want me to be like you, or totally honest?
Katara: Are you saying I'm a liar?
Sokka: I'm saying you're an optimist. Same thing basically.

People hate seeing Japanese words due to a racial issue. People hate seeing white people trying to pretend to be Japanese.

If a white person is speaking various European languages, that's okay. If they're speaking Spanish, you can't really tell if they are or are not from the race of that languages origins.

BUT if you took a visit to where I live, there is strong hate against people speaking Spanish. I've lived in Arizona for about ten years, so I was used to seeing signs with Spanish and hearing it. I moved here to Colorado, and it's insane how much they hate it here. They'll turn around signs that have English and Spanish translations. I actually witnessed this woman attack another woman for appearing ethnically from Mexico, saying "I bet you can't read English. I can, I'm from America. I was born here!"

And yeah, scifi is now syfy, and I think it's rather stupid. SyFy is too cute and kiddie looking.

There are almost twice as many women over the age of 18 who play (video) games than there are boys under the age of 17. [link]

"my overly brilliant mixture of lyk all kinds of mother fucking snakes on airplanes" LOL!

And "Syfy" was the worst idea since...reality shows on Cartoon Network. >.<

Wash: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction.
